At HRM we believe that understanding the Torah is essential for not only understanding how we are to walk with God, but also in understanding the life and mission of our Messiah and to a proper understanding of the New Testament. As we have studied the Torah over numerous cycles, we have always attempted to use our understanding of the Torah to add depth and context to the New Testament.
Over the years we have become very acquainted to the lessons of each Torah portion and the narrative arc from Genesis to Deuteronomy. This coming Torah cycle we are though going to try something a little different. Instead of following the Torah portions, we have decided that during this cycle we will make our way through the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts.
As always, we will attempt to draw links between the Old and New Testaments – we are certainly not abandoning study of the Torah. Instead, we are just shifting our focus a little, with the hope that this shift will bring new and exciting lessons to the foreground.
As always, we are excited for the new cycle and what God will reveal.
